Samen met de gitaristen Paul Willemsen en Onno Smit (Lefties Soul Connection, Beans & Fatback) maakte de Amerikaanse Michelle David vorig jaar het befaamde album The Gospel Sessions Vol. I, een ontroerend mooie ode aan Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Volume II schijnt vooral een lichtje op David zelf, met orkestraal gearrangeerde traditionals en original spirituals die onlosmakelijk met haar leven verbonden zijn.
