Opgericht in Sheffield in 1977, scoorde The Human League hun grootste commerciele successen begin jaren tachtig met singles als "Don't You Want Me", en "The Lebanon". En hoewel de hitsingles sinds de tweede helft van de jaren tachtig grotendeels afwezig bleven, is de band vanaf de oprichting actief.
