The Wheel

The Wheel started as a vision that Ørjan had as a kid: He dreamed of playing lead guitar in a cool rock band, where the singer could actually sing, the drums were groovin' and the bass rumblin' like an earthquake. When he felt he had his chops together, he moved to the big city in search of the ultimate players who had the same desires and musical tastes as him. The first piece of the puzzle fell into place when he was introduced to a Russian bass player by his girlfriend. They talked and found that, despite their cultural differences, they had a lot in common. After a couple of years of trying to get something goin' they decided to record a demo of some of Ørjans songs, with drummer Alessandro Elide. They entered Cult Studios in the summer of 2007. The next step was finding a competent singer who had the pipes and could deliver a strong performance. They found him singing in a local Led Zeppelin tribute band. His name was Jan Erik Salvesen. Jan Erik and Ørjan started working on melodies and lyrics for the demo, and thanks to Producer Robert Hauge from Horten they completed the demo in the spring of 2008. After realizing that they couldn't convince Alessandro to move from Trondheim to Oslo, they started searching for another drummer. One name kept comin' up in conversations with other musicians. They all called him BOL. He had a reputation as one of Norway's finest Hard Rock drummers. A rehearsal was set up at BOL's place outside of Oslo, and it immediately became clear that the last piece of the puzzle was in place.
