De legendarisch live band Yesterday & Today werd in 1973 opgericht. Als openingsact bij de concerten van onder andere de Doobie Brothers, AC/DC en KISS beleefde de groep begin jaren tachtig zijn hoogtepunt. Y&T stond in die periode ook in het voorprogramma van Ozzy Osbourne in Zwolle. Het album "Earthshaker" uit 1981 en de hit "Midnight in Tokyo" van het album "Meanstreak" uit 1983 worden door velen beschouwd als echte klassiekers.
