De Britse singer-songwriter Ed Laurie heeft inmiddels zijn vierde album, 'Trip The Wire', uitgebracht. Een dynamisch en explosief album waarvan de sound al werd vergeleken met namen als David Bowie, Lou Reed en The Doors. Waar hij eerst voornamelijk solo en akoestisch optrad, heeft hij nu een band om zich heen verzameld. Ook op het album is een nieuw geluid te horen. Stijlen als psychedelische rock, jazz, blues en zelfs een vleugje flamenco komen voorbij. Ed over zijn album: "“These songs weren’t born out romantic reveries, but out of a collision with ‘dirtier’ themes such as deception, betrayal, death, futility and how the realization of these things can happen over a period of time or suddenly, with the flick of a switch… hence the title ‘Trip The Wire’."
Vanavond speelt hij met zijn band in ons café.
