La Blusa , formed in 1989 in Delft (Holland), has clearly been strongly influenced by the swamp music of Louisiana, but at the same time, having drawn on other styles, has created a very unique sound. The band's repertoire consists of everything from waltzes to funky zydeco and from ballads to steady cajun rock. The songs are mainly original compositions although traditional and classic hits, re-arranged by the band, play an active role in their repertoire. On stage the band is well known for its enthusiastic approach to entertaining an audience eager to dance the night away.
